THIS POS – Rubio votes against Trump’s border emergency declaration

Senate Republicans have given President Donald Trump’s national emergency declaration a resounding rebuke (59-41) when they crossed the political aisle and voting with Democrats in favor of the measure.

Trump’s response to the vote was very swift, simple and to the point, tweeting “VETO!”

Florida Senator Marco Rubio (R) joined the minority of Republicans who sided with Democrats, making him one of 12 GOP senators who are now firmly placed in Trump’s political doghouse.

Sen. Marco Rubio (FL)

Sen. Mike Lee (UT)

Sen. Rob. Portman (OH)

Sen. Susan Collins (ME)

Sen. Lisa Murkowski (AK)

Sen. Rand Paul (KY)

Sen. Lamar Alexander (TN)

Sen. Pat Toomey (PA)

Sen. Roy Blount (MO)

Sen. Jerry Moran (KS)

Sen. Roger Wicker (MS)

Sen. Mitt Romney (UT)

Surprisingly, Sen. Thom Tillis (R-NC) had a change of mind, and voted against the bill to block Trump’s edict.

Florida’s freshman Senator Rick Scott stood firm with Trump and voted against the resolution that his fellow Floridian Sen. Rubio voted in favor of.

“For years, both parties have said they want to secure our border, but never did anything about it. It’s time to get serious about border security and the safety of American families. I support @realDonaldTrump‘s efforts to secure the border & voted against the resolution today.”- Sen. Rick Scott

Trump’s VETO is expected on Friday.
